Begin your Explore Peru adventure in Lima, exploring its colonial architecture and vibrant streets. Fly to Cusco to stroll through the narrow Inca streets and visit the San Blas neighborhood. Then, take the scenic train ride to Machu Picchu, the ancient Inca citadel. Finish your journey in Puerto Maldonado, the gateway to the Amazon. Immerse yourself in the incredible biodiversity of the Tambopata National Reserve, where the jungle comes alive with unique wildlife and lush landscapes.
Itinerary
At a previous set schedule we will come to pick you up to your hotel, then we will transfer to the international airport Jorge Chavez. From here you will board an airplane towards Cusco. Upon you arrival, you will be welcomed and transfer to your selected hotel. Later in the afternoon (14:30), we will start our city tour with the majestic cathedral that keeps a great number of paintings. Then head to the gold palace of Qoricancha, once considered the richest and most beautiful Inca temple, with walls that used to be gilded in the interior and exterior. Later, visit the sacred bath of Incas well known as “Tambomachay” just few minutes away from the Inca check point of “Puca Pucara”. Afterwards, get to the mother earth temple of “Qencco” which used to be an exceptional religious site due to its awe-inspiring and complex gigantic rock on site. Finally, end at the Inca fortress of “Sacsayhuaman” which is probably one of the most outstanding archaeological sites.
At 03:45am, we will be at your hotel to pick you up and transfer you to Ollantaytambo train station (01hour 45’). Start this spectacular journey to Machupicchu world wonder by train (90’approx). Upon your arrival a local representative will be waiting for you, our guide will assist you through the entire day. As soon as you get to Machupicchu, you will board a bus following the winding road of Hiram Bingham (30minutes). Then you will get to visit the magic Inca citadel of Machupicchu. Your guide will guide you through the most remarkable sights, which include: the magnificent terraces, the shrine site of the temple of the sun, the three window temple, and the sundial of Intihuatana. From here on, take the advantage of some free time to explore and find its beauty on your own. As if you want to walk around, take short hikes either to the Inca Bridge or the sun gate; both offer a combination of unique vistas. Please be aware to catch your bus at a convenient time in order to be back to Aguas Calientes town. Here, find out at your own preference a restaurant to enjoy lunch. Don’t forget to be at the train station 30’ before your train departs towards Ollantaytambo (90’). Upon your arrival, our local representative will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Cusco.
Start your day by simply enjoying perhaps a cup of coffee at the main square and embrace the ambience that surrounds you. If you desire to engage in some additional activities, feel free to contact us and lets us know what you are looking for! It is usually recommended tours to the southern valley, salsa lesson, cooking lessons, among others.
At a coordinate time, we will be at your hotel to transfer you to the airport where you will board your flight to Puerto Maldonado (35’). Once you arrive, you will be transferred to the main office so you can repack for the following three days and two nights. Soon we will be boarding our bus on a dirt road until Infierno community. Here, we will board our boat through the river current until the lodge.
At 06:00am, we will begin our hike through the dense forest observing and incredible number of medicinal trees and birds. As we are exploring, there might be a possibility to observe some jungle creatures. It is advisable to remain discreet as these animals may run away if disturbed. Later, we will arrive to the Billabong Lake and take a boat to embrace what nature offers. From here, we will return straight a way to the lodge and later in the evening it is scheduled a caiman search adventure.
At 07:00am, we will depart from our lodge towards Puerto Maldonado. On the first length, we will travel by boat to the Infierno community, then we will board our bus to the city. Here, you will collect your items and then you will board a plane to Lima. As you arrive our local agent will be awaiting for you to take you to your hotel.
