Itinerary

4:30 AM – 5:00 AM | Hotel Pickup & Departure from Cusco

Your journey begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Cusco. As we leave the city, enjoy a comfortable drive through the scenic Andean valleys, passing small villages and ancient landscapes bathed in the morning light.

7:30 AM – 8:00 AM | Breakfast in Mollepata

We stop in the charming town of Mollepata to enjoy a delicious Andean breakfast, preparing us for the trek ahead. Here, you’ll have time to stretch, hydrate, and take in the fresh mountain air.

 8:00 AM – 8:40 AM | Drive to Soraypampa (Trailhead)

We continue our drive to Soraypampa (3,900m / 12,795 ft), the starting point of our hike. Along the way, marvel at the towering peaks of Salkantay and Humantay, sacred mountains of the Incas.

8:40 AM – 10:00 AM | Hike to Humantay Lake

Get ready for an exhilarating trek! The hike covers 1.5 miles (2.5 km) each way and takes approximately 1.5 hours uphill. Though challenging due to the altitude, the breathtaking landscapes and snow-covered peaks will keep you motivated.

Don’t worry! We take a slow and steady pace, making frequent stops for photos, hydration, and rest. If needed, horse rentals are available for an easier ascent.

10:00 AM – 11:30 AM | Explore the Mesmerizing Humantay Lake

Congratulations, you’ve made it! Humantay Lake is a masterpiece of nature, with its surreal turquoise waters reflecting the towering glaciers above. Here’s what you can do:
âś” Take stunning photos from multiple viewpoints.
âś” Participate in a traditional Andean offering to the Apus (mountain spirits).
âś” Simply relax, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and soak in the magic of this sacred place.

11:30 AM – 12:30 PM | Descent to Soraypampa

We begin our return hike, retracing our steps back to Soraypampa. The downhill trek is easier and quicker, allowing you to fully appreciate the surrounding landscapes.

1:00 PM – 2:00 PM | Lunch in Mollepata

After conquering the hike, enjoy a well-earned Andean feast in Mollepata, featuring fresh local ingredients and traditional Peruvian dishes.

2:00 PM – 5:30 PM | Return to Cusco

Sit back and relax on our comfortable drive back to Cusco, with time to reflect on your incredible adventure. You will be dropped off at your hotel, arriving around 5:30 PM.
