Follow the ancient Inca pathways, once used as sophisticated communication routes, as you traverse from lush valleys to high mountain passes and descend into the mystical cloud forest.

Along the way, explore centuries-old archaeological sites, walk in the footsteps of the Inca civilization, and immerse yourself in the traditions of vibrant Andean communities. Encounter diverse microclimates that sustain a rich variety of crops, from cornfields to high-altitude potato farms, and marvel at the stunning contrasts of snow-capped peaks, dense forests, and winding rivers.

Your adventure culminates in the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu, where you will witness the sun rising over the majestic citadel, a moment that will stay with you forever. With every step, history, adventure, and culture come to life, making this an unforgettable expedition through one of the world’s most iconic trekking routes.

Itinerary

Your adventure begins at 5:00 AM when we pick you up from your hotel in Cusco. We’ll journey to the picturesque town of Ollantaytambo, where you can enjoy an optional breakfast before heading to Km 82 (2,700m / 8,858 ft), the official starting point of the Inca Trail. After a smooth check-in at the control point, our expert guide will lead you through breathtaking Andean landscapes. Along the way, we will visit the impressive Inca ruins of Patallacta, where you’ll gain deeper insights into this ancient civilization. A gentle trek through scenic terrain brings us to our first campsite at Wayllabamba, where a delicious dinner awaits under the Andean sky.

Today’s trek is the most challenging yet rewarding section of the Classic Inca Trail. After an energizing breakfast, we begin the ascent towards the highest point, Warmiwañusca Pass (4,200m / 13,780 ft), also known as Dead Woman’s Pass. This steep climb tests your endurance, but our professional guides and dedicated porters will support you every step of the way. Upon reaching the summit, take in the breathtaking panoramic views of the Andes before descending into the Pacaymayo Valley (3,600m / 11,811 ft), where we will set up camp. A well-deserved meal prepared by our top-notch chefs will replenish your energy for the journey ahead.

Prepare for an enchanting day filled with Inca archaeological wonders. We’ll trek through high-altitude cloud forests and visit remarkable sites, including Runkuracay, an ancient Inca lookout point, Sayacmarca, a mysterious ceremonial site, and Puyupatamarca, known as the ‘City Above the Clouds.’ Each stop includes a guided tour to bring history to life. Finally, we reach the mesmerizing Wiñayhuayna ruins (2,650m / 8,694 ft), an incredible prelude to Machu Picchu. As this is our last evening on the trail, our team will host a special farewell ceremony, allowing you to reflect on your amazing journey.

The highlight of your trek arrives! We wake up at 4:00 AM to embark on the final stretch toward Inti Punku (Sun Gate), arriving just in time to witness the breathtaking sunrise over Machu Picchu. This magical moment is one of the most unforgettable experiences in the world. After soaking in the first panoramic views of the Lost City of the Incas, we descend for an expert-guided tour of Machu Picchu’s most significant temples, terraces, and sacred areas.

Following your tour, you’ll have free time to explore on your own before heading to Aguas Calientes, where you can enjoy a delicious lunch. Later, we take a scenic train journey back to Ollantaytambo, where our private transport will be waiting to return you safely to Cusco, marking the end of an extraordinary adventure.
