Itinerary
At 01:00pm, an Expedition Travel Peru representative, will come to your hotel to pick you up and transfer you to the bus station. From here you will board and travel along the South American highway for 06 hours to Nazca. Upon your arrival our local agent will welcome you and transfer to your hotel.
At 07:30am, our local guide will welcome and transfer you to the local airdrome of Maria Recihe. Here we will watch a film about the Nazca Lines. Then we will be ready to board the plane and flight over the Nazca Lines. Observe enormous lines and figures etched into the Nazca desert and figures like: a whale, monkey, spider, dog, tree, astronaut, parrot, condor, and hundreds of hundreds of lines. After this unbelievable experience, we will return to the airport for a short break. Afterwards, we will carry on to the Chauchilla cemetery, a vast burial ground from Pre–Inca time. Here we will wander around observing scattered pottery pieces, human bones, and artefacts that have been looted by grave robbers “huaqueros”. Finally, we will go back to Nazca in order to pick your items from your hotel. Then you will be transferred to the bus station so you can board your bus and towards Ica (03 hours approx.). Once you get there, our local guide will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel.
At 07:30am, we will come to your hotel to pick you up and start our tour through the city. The first sightseeing is the “Regional Museum of Ica”, where incredible ancient artefacts that have been found at different areas of the region can be appreciated. All these ancient treasures date back to 2,000 years. This area is also important because many of the highly developed cultures (Paracas, Nazca, Ica Chincha, Wari) reigned within the area. All these cultures managed their needs and had a great self-encouragement besides the difficulties, actually this is one of the most highly recommended places by different tourist guides. After the museum we will head towards the down town to enjoy the local environment and its typical customs. In addition, you can contemplate old houses known as (casonas), the main cathedral, chapels, temples, etc. Next we will visit a famous winery, where you can try wine, the famous Peruvian drink “Pisco”, and other local specialities. Later we will move onto the Huacachina lagoon to embrace its splendid scenery, its surroundings with endless sand dunes. If you want to feel some adrenaline in the middle of nowhere, you could go on an adventure through the dunes by buggies. After all you will be taken back to your hotel.
At 06:30am, we will pick you up from your hotel and take you to Paracas (60’). At 07:30am, we will be ready to board our boat in order to visit the natural wonder of the Ballestas Islands. On the way there, soon after, we will get to the “Candelabro figure” where we are going to have a brief stop to admire and take photos. Once we get to the Ballestas, we will observe a large number of seabirds (migratory and endemics) and mammals. After this unbelievable experience, we will get back to the main land where you will enjoy some free time. Later in the afternoon we will assist you boarding your bus towards Lima (04 hours), where our local guide will be waiting for you to pick and transfer you to your hotel. Here our services end.
