Chinchero has an incredible Inca architecture and it is the second highest Andean town in Peru (3850MASL). In this village the Andean tradition is still alive, here local people dress with colorful traditional clothing and embrace their rich and native language “Quechua”. After that we will visit Maras, another typical Andean village full of history. Just five minutes away the complex area of Moray is located, this is known for its highly advance agriculture research center. After, visit the Salineras, a place with a unique salt mine still providing a source of nourishment for the Andean villagers in Cuzco. Finally we will take you back to your hotel.

At a coordinated time we will come to pick you up from your hotel, then we will board our tourist bus to head along the spectacular mountain that will allow you embrace the scenic peaks and take endless pictures. This tour offers boundless panoramas with a great combination of nature and villages. Here you will be able to observe huts, ranches, and the real country side. From here, we will move onto the unique Inca research center of Moray, an extraordinary circular shaped construction. In order to understand how the Incas were able to work horticultural matters, we will visit different terraced levels. Each terrace has a different scientifically proven micro-climate, so that different crops can be farmed at the same time. A few kilometers away, we will find the village of Maras, which embraces a very typical Andean life, having its colonial church as the main meeting point every weekend villagers meet. Another attractive site in this tour is the Salt Evaporation Ponds (Salineras), which remains in use since the pre-Incan time. The water comes from small streams and gradually trickles down into the ponds to later be evaporated by the sun. This system is still actively used by the local communities as a source of income. Local families work through a rotating system where each family takes a turn to collect the salt once a month as to giving opportunity to all families improve their life style. From here we will head back to Cusco to drop off at your hotel where our services end.
