Choquequirao trek is a very special tour for everyone who desires to be away from crowded areas, its magnificence and importance has played an essential role during the Inca Empire. During your hike you will enjoy a variety of microclimates, from tropical valleys to highest peaks where is possible to see lush of wild life. Fertile field crops, communities, local people, spectacular snow-capped mountains will also offer outstanding views to your eyesight. Finally, we will stumble on the cradle of gold “Choquequirao”, which will reward you with an incredible experience that will take you back into the ancient time of the Incas.

At 06:00 hrs, we will pick you up from your hotel to travel to Cachora community (04 hours). At this place, we will have our first encounter with our local porters and chefs. Then we will be ready, to begin our adventure on the way to the valley/ quebrada de Capuliyoc (2,800MASL). From here, we will have a splendid vista to the deep valley of Apurimac river, while in the distance we will observe snow-caped mountains to later descend in order to enjoy our first campsite in Chiquisca camp ground (1,800MASL).
At 05:00am, we will have our nutritional breakfast then we will start hiking to the river beach of Rosalinas (1,550MSNM). From here, we will continue with another challenging hike up to Santa Rosa town, (2,100 MASL). Here, we will have our lunch to later move onto a very steep trail to Maranpata village (2850 MASL). Here, you will be able to observe the whole trail that you have been hiking during the entire day. Soon after you will get to the second campsite of Sunchupata.
At 05:00am, we will have our delicious breakfast and then we will hike for one hour. Just after, the dream has finally become true. “Choquequirao” invistes you to explore and immerse yourself into this magnificent site filled with art work that was built 1,000 years ago. Wander around and appreciate a perfect engineering and architectural work samples like ritual squares, narrow passages, water drainage systems, fascinating chambers, great number of terraces, windows, and intriguing pegs. At a coordinated time, we make our way back along the same trail to Chiquisca community where we will camp for the last night.
After few days of hiking, it is time to wake up and enjoy our last morning in this area; we will say good bye to the staff who accompanied and provided for us through this journey. At a convenient time, we will start hiking to Cachora, where you will be picked up and be taken back to your hotel in Cusco so our services can end.
