AREQUIPA

Day 01: Arequipa – Colca Chivay.

At 08:30 hrs, we will pick you u and travel along the Andes, on your way a few stops will be done to observe the “National Reserve Area of Aguada Blanca y Salinas”. At this place we will observe hundreds of hundreds of vicuñas, this creature has one of the best finest fibre in the world. Soon we will arrive to Patahuasi, here we will have hot drinks offered by the local families, we recommend you to have at least one due to its properties helps to minimise the Andean mountain sickness. As we are ascending we will get to the highest pass of “El mirador de los Andes”. A very short break to observe the panorama and descend into Chivay the capital of Colca valley. Our local guide will lead us to the local restaurant that offers Andean buffet lunch, you can try local specialities such as: alpaca, trout delicacies. In the afternoon you will be taken to the hot spring of la calera, to enjoy its properties so you can relax enjoying some local drinks. In the evening you are invited to enjoy a local Andean local show with local artists at same time a delicious dinner of your preference.

Day 02: Chivay – Cruz del Cóndor – Arequipa

At 06:00am, we will have our breakfast, then we will continue our tour to Cruz del Condor (120’). Once here, we will observe the fascinating flight of the Condor, one of the most important bird in Andean’s believe. So you can spent enough time just staring up this unique creature in the world. Later on, we will be suggested to hike along the edge of the canyon we might stumble on observing different species of hummingbirds, flowers, and Andean fox. At the end, our bus will be waiting to pick us up and return to Chivay, on our way we will have few stops to look at the natural beauty of Pre-Inca terraces, communities, local families and so on. Once in Chivay, we will be offered to have lunch (if you desire). Then we will board our bus to head back to Arequipa, arriving at 04pm, approximately.
