This area is a perfect place for the development of these creatures due the immense swamp presence during whole year, which allows a quick reproduction of this specie. Census done during the last years counted 6,000 thousand creatures alive, this gives an exceptional number to be considered as one of the major populations compare to any other in the world. Besides this important fact, every year on June 24th at Pampas Galeras, a traditional festival is hosted where Vicuñas or wild camels are offered in a special ritual in order to thank the mother earth for its generosity towards its people.

Description
At 06:30am you will be picked up from your hotel (in Nazca) and board your private tourist transport that takes you on the road to Cuzco. Along the way we will follow a winding road and as soon as we get onto the highland, we will observe the highest dune of the world known as “Cerro Blanco” or White Hill (2078MASL). Another spectacular attraction is the wild camel called “Guanaco” located at an area of 2,800MASL. Then we will continue straight away to the National Reserve of Pampas Galeras where we will be privileged to observe the special behaviour of Vicuñas and its reproduction. Here we will also be able to contemplate Andean birds flying around. As we get closer to the vicuñas in order to take nice pictures, we will go through a marked trail where our bilingual guide will teach us how and why the community member are responsible for taking care of these animals. Which allows them to be involved with the finest fibre than Kashmir world market. After exploring this amazing site, it is time to return to Nasca directly to our hotel where our service ends.
