The Nazca Lines
At the time previously arranged with a representative of Expedition Travel Peru, you will set off from your hotel to begin your journey through the south of Peru. Along the way you will bear witness to the driest desert in the world, set in contrast to the stunning, fertile valleys nearby. Upon arriving in the city of Ica, you will visit artisanal wineries where you will learn about the manufacture of Pisco, wine, and other alcoholic beverages. Continuing this circuit you will arrive at the Regional Museum of Ica to appreciate the impressive collection of artifacts from the Nazca, Paracas, Ica, China, and Inca cultures. From here we will move on to Lake Huacachina to enjoy the charm of this bustling oasis, as well as explore the sand dunes in a dune buggy. As night falls, we will continue the journey towards Nazca.
At the arranged time, we will set out from your hotel to the María Reich airport, located 5km outside the city. Here, we will watch a documentary about the enigmatic Nazca lines, which will prepare us for an unforgettable plane ride over giant drawings etched into the sand in the driest desert in the world. During the flight you will observe a whale, an astronaut, a condor, a dog, a monkey, a hand, a tree, a lizard, a flower, a spider, a spiral, a parrot, a flamingo, and a hummingbird, in addition to the spectacular geometric lines that crisscross the vast plains. In the afternoon, you will board the bus to return to Lima. Upon your arrival, a representative will meet you to facilitate transport back to your hotel, where our service will come to an end.
